h2o.ai and Python

One of the awesome things I discovered this year is H2O.ai. According to its homepage,

H2O is for data scientists and application developers who need fast, in-memory scalable machine learning for smarter applications. H2O is an open source parallel processing engine for machine learning. Unlike traditional analytics tools, H2O provides a combination of extraordinary math, a high performance parallel architecture, and unrivaled ease of use.

I first explored the service using H2O Flow–its web-based interface, and I liked it. Now I’m using the h2o package in both [R] and Python.

To install the Python package:

$ pip install requests
$ pip install tabulate

If you have a prior installation of the package, it is highly recommended that you uninstall it first with the following command.

$pip uninstall h2o

Install/Reinstall using pip.

$ pip install http://h2o-release.s3.amazonaws.com/h2o/rel-shannon/30/Python/h2o-

This is the latest stable version as of this writing. Do check their website for updates.
